Join the Association of Chief Academic Officers for an ACE Experience 2027 Pre-Conference Workshop on "Leading Through Financial Constraint: Academic Innovation in an Era of Budget Pressure". The event will take place on Thursday, March 4th, 2027 from 1-3pm at the Marriott Marquis located at 901 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20001. Registration is free for ACAO members and $100 for non-members. If a non-member joins ACAO during or within a month after the event, we will apply the fee towards their institutional membership. About the Pre-Conference Session: Leading Through Financial Constraint: Academic Innovation in an Era of Budget Pressure Provosts and chief academic officers are leading through unprecedented financial, technological, and strategic pressures. This interactive pre-conference session from the Association of Chief Academic Officers (ACAO) will create space for candid peer dialogue about the challenges and opportunities facing today’s academic enterprise. Together, participants will explore timely issues including academic innovation and financial sustainability, AI and institutional strategy, the changing value proposition of higher education, program prioritization and portfolio management, student success, leadership relationships, and the evolving role of the CAO. Designed for conversation and peer exchange, the session will provide opportunities to share experiences, examine approaches, and engage with fellow academic leaders facing many of the same challenges. A 30-minute networking opportunity will follow the 90-minute session, allowing participants to continue the conversation and build connections with colleagues from across the field.
