Announcing WCET’s Summer Leadership Summit

WCET, a national, nonprofit whose mission is to advance policies, practices and advocacy in support of technology-enhanced teaching and learning, recently opened registration to its acclaimed Leadership Summit. The 2017 summit, Essential Institutional Capacities to Lead Innovation, will be held June 14-15, 2017, in Salt Lake City.

WCET’s summits attract ~ 150 senior level academic and administration higher education leaders nationally. The 1-1/2 day summit is designed to engage institutional leaders in a deep dive discussion and conversation on an important challenge facing our institutions, our leaders, and our students. Through select panels and facilitated group discussions, summit attendees will share their ideas and concerns about how to best align and support an institution’s human capital, technology investments, and a content strategy to sustain innovation in teaching and learning.

Consider these job titles – chief learning officer, chief integration officer, design engineer, data scientist, content strategist, vice president of completion, user experience analyst, information privacy and security professional, learning outcomes and assessment director. These professional roles that support technology-enhanced teaching and learning were relatively uncommon just three years ago. Today, these positions, and others, are vital in the delivery of CBE, personalized learning, artificial intelligence, mobile experiences, college coaching, and other approaches to improve student learning outcomes.
